Want to give your league an Almanac?
The free download builds a Google Sheets record book for your league. You’ll need a Windows PC, an ESPN points league and a Google account for the finished workbook.
The guided setup supports head-to-head and season-long points, public and private leagues, and draft and completed-auction histories. Not yet: rotisserie. Request your platform or format.

How it works
One ZIP, one guide, one build
The launcher walks you through setup and checks your inputs before saving them.
- 1
Download
Download the ZIP above and extract it. Each folder holds one league; for a second league, extract a fresh copy.
- 2
Double-click
Open
START_ALMANAC.cmd. The launcher creates its own Python environment. - 3
Follow the guide
Choose the league and seasons you want. For private ESPN leagues, the illustrated guide also walks through copying two session-cookie values from your browser. The launcher validates everything before saving.
- 4
Press Enter
At “Create the almanac now? [Y/n],” press Enter. The app builds the history and writes the workbook into your Google Drive. Keep an eye out for the authorization pop-up during this stage.
No Git chops, terminal commands, configuration-file editing, warehouse account or Google Cloud project required.
In a league’s first season, some all-time and single-season workbook views will naturally show the same values.
The guide has screenshots for every click of the session-cookie step. The process isn’t difficult, but it is slightly inelegant and will be simplified in a future release.
Your data and permissions
All league processing happens on your PC. ESPN cookies remain local, and the Google token is stored in Windows Credential Locker. There’s no hosted Almanac API, user database, telemetry, usage analytics or backend of mine receiving any of it. The Google permission applies only to workbooks the app creates, and every workbook begins private.
Google authorization: Google has approved brand verification for the Almanac’s OAuth project. You’ll still see Google’s standard permission screen during setup, but the app should no longer present an “unverified app” warning.
Help shape what comes next
I’m looking for people who want a record book now and an early voice in what it becomes. Tell me where setup lost you, whether the workbook represented your league correctly, or what would make it more useful.
Guided CBS setup is next: I already run CBS points support weekly for one of my leagues and am finishing the standardization for others. Here’s an anonymized sample from our 25-year-old season-points league. Other platforms and formats will follow demand, alongside deeper player history and more dashboard views.

The issue chooser includes a private-support route. If a workbook looks wrong, you can ask there about sharing it view-only; ordinary feedback doesn’t require access. Please keep workbook links and credentials out of public issues.
If you’d rather follow along for now, star or watch the repository. Thanks so much!
